Studio Policies 2023-24
Billing Periods And Acceptable Payment Methods
- - Lessons are paid for on a monthly basis, or multiple months in advance if you prefer to. (does not apply to the 'Little Mozarts' class)
- - Payments must be received by the first day of each month for the following month. (Example: Payments for November would be due by November 1st)
- - Acceptable payment methods are by Interac Email Money Transfer.
- - Payments for individual lessons are not accepted.
- - Payments for the 'Music For Little Mozarts' class must be made in full at the time of registration and before the course begins.
Scheduling of Lessons and Times (Private Lessons Only)
- - Instrument lessons are taught once per week, for a duration of either 30 or 60 minutes. The scheduling of lessons will be established between Alexander and the student or parent/legal guardian. Lessons will begin at the pre-arranged time and any changes to the time or schedule will be mutually agreed upon between Alexander and the student or parent/legal guardian.
Cancellation of Lessons and Lateness
- - There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for missed lessons.
- - If less notice is given for missing a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at Alexander's discretion and only with an acceptable excuse.
- - Students who arrive late will not receive a make-up lesson and the amount of time that the student is late is considered lost time.
- - If Alexander needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
- - If Alexander is late, the lesson time will be extended so that the student receives a full lesson. If the time cannot be extended, it will be added to a future lesson time.
- - If the student will miss a lesson due to vacation, please let Alexander know before payments are made - it would be greatly appreciated!
- - If a student is late for the 'Little Mozarts' class, the class will continue without them.
Student Withdrawl
- - If a student wishes to stop taking lessons, a written letter or email letter to Alexander must be presented before the next payment. If the student stops taking lessons after the current monthly payment has been made, there will be no refund for the remainder of the lessons paid for.
- - Alexander has the right to stop teaching a student at any time should the situation occur. Alexander will notify the student or parent/legal guardian and complete the lessons for the current paid period.
Music Books
- - New books may be required during the year and can be purchased by the student or the parent/legal guardian, or by Alexander. If Alexander is needed to purchase or order a book for the student, the student or parent/legal guardian is responsible for paying Alexander at the next lesson.
Make-Up Lessons and Classes
- - All make-up lessons are preferred to be completed by the end of the month in which the missed lesson occured, OR at a date that is convenient for Alexander and the student.
- - Make-up lessons will be scheduled at a mutual agreed upon time between Alexander and the student or parent/legal guardian.
- - If the student misses the make-up lesson, the lesson is considered to have been taught.
- - No more than 2 make-up lessons can be given within a paid month.
- - There are no make-up lessons for classes, only private instruction.
- - **There are NO REFUNDS for missed lessons or classes**
Expectations of The Students and Parents/Legal Guardians
- - Students are expected to arrive on time and to be prepared for their lesson.
- - The student is required to attend each lesson with the required lesson book(s).
- - Students are expected to practice between scheduled lessons for a duration of time suggested by Alexander and depending on the student's level (does not apply to the 'Little Mozart' class, however some listening or other small activities may be suggested). Alexander does recognize that school studies, emergencies, etc do occur and are more important some weeks.
- - Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the 'Little Mozarts' class with their children. Please exhibit some restraint if your child is disturbing the learning process of the other children or the teaching from the instructor.
- - Parents are encouraged to be involved with their children's musical progress. You don't need to be 'musical' to inspire them, and who knows, you might end up being a student too. It's never too late!
Any of the studio policies are subject to change without notice. Alexander will provide an amended copy of any policy changes to the student(s) or parent/legal guardian.
